Christmas time! The search for “interesting” presents took me and Barbara to Daylesford Organics. This is a very posh farm shop in the Cotswolds. It is the sort of place where you can have a free lunch by trying all the different sorts of tastings available. Isn’t serendipity a strange thing. Kettle on, cut bread, insert in toaster, create interesting mix of cereals, pour boiling water into large tea bagged cup, scan front page of newspaper, turn over paper and start reading from the back. The breakfast process is well honed and produces the optimum value with minimum waste.

Starting at the back of the paper means that I hit the obituaries at the second round of toast
